I grew up in Portland Oregon with a family that loved to camp in the Olympic and Cascade Mountains and visit the beaches of the Pacific Northwest. As an adolescent, I spent much of my free time in the nearby Hoyt Arboretum, a 190-acre sanctuary of trees and walking trails. Nature has always been a place of belonging for me.

At twenty-six, I emigrated to Sydney, Australia. After meeting my partner we moved to northern New South Wales, where we live in a rainforest community on eighty acres of land. Trees, birds and wildlife are part of everyday life, and the natural world continues to be a profound source of inspiration for my work.

Art has always been a way of making the invisible visible. The symbolic, the archetypal, the mythical and the spiritual - these are what fascinate me and drive my art. As artists have done for millennia, I seek to communicate and nourish the invisible realms .
