I was born in the United States, in Portland Oregon. I lived in Seattle for 6 years before I immigrated to Australia at the tender age of 26. I have lived in Australia ever since. I do sometimes miss the U.S., so I go back to visit when I can. I especially miss the mountains and the evergreen forests of my childhood.
I have just returned from one of my visits. I would like to share a few photos to give you an overview.
Our first stop was Seattle to visit my niece. After a few days to recover from the 30 hours of travel, we flew to Chicago to see my brother.
I am not much of a city girl. I enjoy the change but can find cities a little overwhelming. Perhaps you can tell from my photo.
We returned to Seattle, picked up my niece and took a bus to Vancouver.
A very beautiful city. This is taken from a ferry to North Vancouver.
After a few days in Vancouver we rented a car and drove to the Canadian Rockies.
This is my niece. Emerald Lake is actually green.
I got to walk in the giant forests. That made me very happy. (The man is my husband.)
Pretty astounding, don’t you agree?
