This past week a friend and I drove up to Murwillumbah and had a day of inspiration. She loves the peaceful and serene Clarrie Hall Dam, which is where this was taken. My main love is the forest and the beach, in that order – but I wasn’t complaining.
Now that I am out of the journal and onto watercolour paper, I had this idea I wanted to try out. I usually do a detailed drawing first and then go in with watercolour washes. With this one, I thought I would try pen over the watercolour. It will be interesting to see how far I feel I need to take the pen drawing.
A private student of mine lives near Brunswick Heads. So after our lesson I went for a walk on the beach. As you can see, it was a beautiful day. It is summertime in Australia.
I also brought out another Protected Habitat drawing that I am working on. I am very excited about this one. If you want to see more in the series go here.
